“I believe that these young men are capable of positive lasting changes given the support and opportunity to do so.”

Mike Turgeon

One of the greatest rewards is the positive relationships that last long after a client has left, with former clients calling or stopping by as adults.

About

History

Prentice House, Inc. had its first group home licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in 1992. Its beginning originated with the vision of its creator, Mike Turgeon. The vision: to provide a safe, supportive and structured environment for adolescent males to reach a greater potential of emotional and social growth in a family-like atmosphere. Over the years Prentice House, Inc. has refined our approach with juvenile males to meet that vision most effectively. With three licensed group homes, an onsite school, an aftercare program, and implementing individualized treatment strategies we have been able to continue to meet the demand for this service effectively and professionally.    Through the years Prentice House, Inc. has maintained a core staff that is dedicated and believes that change is possible for these young men. That through building trusting relationships and meaningful bonds they can perform to a higher set of expectations. Our members strive to provide every opportunity for these young men to succeed all the while being professional, supportive, genuine, and empathetic in the interactions with each client. Our staff brings over 100 years of experience working progressively with adolescent males. We take pride in working effectively at coordinating integrated services to provide the most comprehensive care laying the foundation for success in each individual client. We continually look forward to meet the new demands and challenges that present themselves over time by being proactive and maintaining the vision of providing a safe environment to promote healthy lifelong change.    Located in the northern part of Wisconsin, among the beautiful backdrop of Lake Superior and the Chequemagon-Nicolet National Forest, our residents have ample opportunity to take advantage of the abundant recreational activities available. Our staff members share their passion for living in this area with our residents, providing exposure and opportunity for these young men to develop healthy lifestyle habits.
