Residential Programming

Each of our three group homes at Prentice House provides quality care for 8 adolescent males (11-17 years old) placed with us through the court system. Daily comprehensive programming includes an individualized treatment approach, staff facilitated educational groups, and a 4:1 resident to staff ratio in a structured family setting. Our administrative staff provides direct and involved daily care for our clients allowing us to provide informed and individualized quality programming. Our directors maintain regular and personalized communication with social workers and placing agency staff further augmenting the comprehensive care provided for these young men. With our Aftercare Program our staff members remain in contact with the clients to help ensure a positive transition from the more structured environment to a less restrictive one of their home.    When residents arrive they are assigned to a caretaker that works closely with them to set and achieve goals helping them to successfully complete the program. Our weekly staff facilitated groups that residents will participate in are creative problem solving, anger management, errors in thinking, AODA, and independent living skills. In our structured family environment each resident is responsible for maintaining and or learning appropriate personal care, household chores, and meals are eaten as a group providing opportunities to create and build upon independent living skills. We regularly utilize services by outside providers that include individual therapy, outpatient AODA treatment, and other services as necessary. All residents participate in our recreation program that aims at improving their overall health through exercise, while also exposing them to healthy lifestyle options that they can continue when they return to their home.

Referral Process

Prentice House Inc. is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. We provide a structured family atmosphere allowing our residents to address their need for emotional growth with the goal of returning home or to a less restrictive setting. All of our residents are placed through a court order as we do not accept private admissions.    If you are a licensed social worker who has a possible referral please feel free to contact any of our directors to discuss the juvenile’s case. One of our directors would also be available to answer any questions you may have about Prentice House Inc and the services we provide. If you have already secured a place with Prentice House for a specific juvenile you may download the intake packet here.
